HISTORY OF BURLINGTON FOUNDRY INC
Harold Marvin started his career working at the Marvin Foundry when he was a teenager in Cambridge MA. At that time the company was owned and operated by his brother Ernest Marvin, who later became a selectman in Burlington MA.
At the beginning of World War II, Harold joined the Marines serving in five major engagements in the Pacific. Upon discharge the two Marvin brothers went in to business together to operate a new foundry on Cambridge Road in Burlington called the Marvin Brothers Foundry. As the business grew Harold desired to separate from his brother and start his own business.
In 1954 the Burlington Foundry, Inc. was established and became a Corporation. Harold started with four customers and during those prosperous years Harold grew the business, and the work force to 19 employees. During the early 80’s the dream of its founder became a reality, the business was expanding and Harold was able to purchase property and build a new foundry located at 13 Adams Street in Burlington MA. Again the company needed to expand and were able to purchase another building next door to be able to accommodate our industrial clients efficiently.
Today those strong family values continue as his son Kurt Marvin operate the Burlington Foundry , Inc. The Burlington Foundry, Inc. continues into its third generation of management and exists as a wonderful tribute to Harold Marvin.
